As a husband, happily married for 29 years, it has been the first of my defining characteristics. My wife and mother of my children has been a pillar of strength, courage and love.
Fatherhood, my second characteristic, is what has helped cement my relationship as a husband. It has added more meaning and purpose than I ever thought possible. My children have been my greatest blessings.
Coaching has given me the opportunity to help others. As a youth soccer coach, I was able to teach and motivate my kids and relate game situations to how they relate to real life scenarios. They learned about team work, working hard, winning, losing, and not giving up. All game situations were always compared to their real life challenges in school and at home.
